Ember’s journey…
![]()
So far, Ember has traveled 3871 km, visited 3 cities (Edmonton, Chilliwack, Houston), and been found by 3 people.
Goal: To inspire creativity, exploration, and connection in 50 people through one shared global journey.
Ember’s story is still unfolding. Each time it is found, the journey continues and grows through every new person and place it touches.

What people who find Ember are saying
Ember’s journey is just beginning.
As people discover the book and log their finds, their voices will start to appear here with moments, reflections, and small stories from the road.
Ember has always been a little different. It is the only softcover in a family of five journals. The others are hardcover, a bit tougher, a bit more protected. Ember is more flexible, easier to carry, and maybe a little more open to whatever happens next. That felt right. Just like siblings in a family, each journal has its own personality and its own way of moving through the world. Same family. Same heart. Just a different kind of strength.
–Brent, Author/Maker of This Book Travels, Chilliwack, British Columbia (December 2025)
Life is really a trip, you can plan as much as you want but at the end God is in control and has the last word. I hope this book always ends in good hands as a form of hope. I hope [Ember] can travel to many places.
–Erica, Houston, Texas (January 2026)
Where was Ember last seen?
Ember came into being at a printing house in Edmonton, then joined the rest of the five-journal family in Chilliwack, BC, where each journal set out on its own path. Each numbered point on the map shows where Ember has been found along the way.
About Ember
Ember is drawn to warmth, color, and moments that spark joy.
It notices laughter, small celebrations, and the feeling of being fully present.
It is playful and spirited, often finding its way into places where people linger, connect, and share something light.
If you carry it for a while, take it somewhere that feels alive to you, such as a gathering with friends, a favorite café, a sunset walk, or a moment that makes you smile.
Add one small thing: a few words, a sketch, or a memory that captures the warmth of the moment.
What you add becomes part of who Ember is becoming.

Ember writes back
There is a small surprise waiting for anyone who records a find here.
When you upload your photo or short note, Ember reads what you shared and sends a personal message in return. The reply feels like it is written by the journal itself, shaped by the places it has been and the people who have carried it.
It is not a chat. You do not need to ask it anything. It simply responds once, as a quiet reflection from a companion that has been traveling through many hands.
Many Finders say it feels like the journal noticed them.
Your entry becomes part of Ember’s memory and may influence the messages it sends in the future as the journey continues.
If you want to experience it, just log your find and upload a photo.
Ember will reply when it can.

The family of five
Ember is one of a family of five journals released from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, in December 2025.
Each was set free to follow its own path and inspire creativity, exploration, and connection as it moves from person to person.
Each journal has its own personality and way of seeing the world:
If you found one of these five journals, you are now part of its unfolding story. What you add creates a small connection with those who came before you and those who will come after, as the journal continues its journey.
